El Mesias is a former AAA Mega Champion, he also held the IWA World Championship, the IWC Universal Championship, The Wrestling Society X Championship and was recently the Lucha Underground Champion as Mil Muertes.
Although Mesias had parted ways AAA a few days ago yesterday Mesias held his first press conference yesterday airing his grievances with AAA. Fred Esparza paraphrased the conference via twitter stating that "El Mesias said he felt disrespected by AAA as a luchador. He said there were issues w/ his Triplemania match w/ Pagano when AAA changed the way that match was planned out. [He] would ask Dorian Roldan or one of the AAA attorneys to show him his contract and they never would show it to him. He said he doesn't even know the length of contract but he signed it 4 years ago. [His] knees have been injured since last June. AAA had him continue wrestling thru about end of October. He said reason was due to Japan tour. [They] gave him a certain amount to cover surgery but he thought they would give him more. He asked Dorian to support him because he has a family to take care of. AAA rep told Mesias to get a loan if he needed more money. [He] was already upset with AAA and then when he made his return, they told him he was losing to La Parka (at Rey de Reyes) and he took that as a lack of respect. Felt being out 5 months & have his return in that way was unjust.
[Mesias] thought about it for 2 weeks but he had really already quit by that point and that he made the official announcement on Wednesday after returning to Mexico from Los Angeles. [That] Dorian Roldan was going to make his life impossible and would block him from working for other promoters. He doesn't know if he'll still be part of Lucha Underground."
El Mesias as Mil Muertes will team up with with fellow Lucha Underground wrestler Marty the Moth to take on the Legendary Blue Demon Jr. and Huracan Ramierz Jr. this weekend in the historic OKC Farmers Market for the United Wrestling Network's Lucha America
Pro Wrestling Sheet has reported that the WWE has released NXT talent Abbey Laith. "Laith — formerly known as Kimber Lee — signed with the company in January of last year. She was featured in the Mae Young Classic, but was rarely used on NXT TV beyond that." The only posts that the former Abbey Laith has posted on social media was on twitter where she quotes a line from Rocky Balboa. "It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit, its is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"Prior to joining World Wrestling Entertainment, Lee was making her name on the indies prior to joining the WWE in late 2016, as a inter-gender competitor. It was getting to the point where Lee was wrestling against men as nearly as often as she was against women. One such match received lot of attention for how dangerous one of the spots was.
We wish her well in all of her future endeavors...
