Back in April, Lio Rush's contract had expired with Ring of Honor. What some considered to be a step for Rush's career might have helped launched him to the next level. PWinsider.com is reporting that the former CZW World Champion is Orlando bound and will be signing with the WWE to join NXT in the near future. Once leaving ROH, it appeared that Rush did everything he possibly could to get the attention of the WWE. In just three months, Rush would add wrestling in Mexico, Canada, and the UK to his resume. He would win the CZW World Championship defeating Joe Gacy. He unsuccessfully challenged Zack Sabre Jr. for the EVOLVE Title. He would make it to the finals of the 21st Annual Super 8 Tournament. He would appear on seven Pay Per Views world wide. Last week Rush denied reports that the WWE has contacted him, "My interest in WWE again is through the roof. I haven’t been contacted by WWE, but the playing field right now with the cruiserweights, and that’s been somewhat of a main focus with them, it drives me to become better," he shared on the Ring Rust Radio Podcast.
